Asia is married, has five children, and two grandchildren. She is a farmer elected as the first woman water operator in her area.
Before, Asia walked long distances to fetch water, and during the dry season, her crops would fail.
Now she manages a borehole and is honored by her community. Although she has yet to receive her first paycheck, she feels proud of her role.
Asia hopes to pay her children’s school fees, provide them with snacks, and eventually expand water access to three boreholes.
