Let's make this "Labor Day" all about mothers.

"Survival" should not be on any mother's birth plan.

Yet, for countless mothers, survival remains their most cherished hope — for themselves and their infants.

An estimated 800 women will lose their lives today due to childbirth or pregnancy complications.

This year, 5 million children will not live to celebrate their fifth birthday. Tragically, nearly half (47%) of them will pass away during their first month of life. An additional 1.9 million babies will be stillborn.

Unjust

These deaths predominantly occur in low-income countries. And most heartbreakingly, nearly every one of these deaths is preventable.

The most crucial fact to remember?

Nearly every death is preventable.

You can make a difference by giving pregnant mothers access to skilled Community Health Workers in their communities.
