The Adventure Project “Visit Haiti with The Adventure Project” Contest (“Contest”) begins at 12:00:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on Saturday January 12, 2013 and ends at 11:59:59 AM ET on January 26, 2013 (“Contest Entry Period”).
Eligibility: The Contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico and all other territories), who are 13 years of age or older. Employees, agents, officers and directors of The Adventure Project, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling or spouse) and persons living in the same households as such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the Contest. By entering the Contest, participants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Contest Entities, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees, divisions, retailers, agencies and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from any and all damages whether direct or indirect, which may be due to or arise out of participation in the Contest or any portion thereof, or the acceptance, use/misuse or possession of prizes. By participating, you agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of the Judges (The Adventure Project), whose decisions are final and binding in all respects. Void in Puerto Rico, all other territories and where prohibited by law, rule or regulation. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
How to Enter: Go to www.TheAdventureProject.com (the “Website”) and follow the on screen instructions to donate at least $60 here: www.theadventureproject.org/win from January 12, 2013 at 12:00:00AM ET to January 26, 2013 at 11:59pm ET and you will be automatically entered into the Contest for a chance to Win a Trip to Visit Haiti with the Adventure Project.
Alternative entry method: Visit www.theadventureproject.org/win and create a fundraising campaign. Once you start a fundraising campaign and reach $60 raised you will be officially entered into the Contest.
To enter without making a donation, send an email to sarah@theadventureproject.org with the following subject line: “Please enter me in the Contest – Visit Haiti with The Adventure Project”. Offline donations will not be counted.
Selection of Winner: The winner will be determined from all eligible entries received in one random drawing (the “Drawing”). One Drawing will be held on January 26, 2013 at 12:00PM ET. The Drawing will be conducted by representatives of Sponsor whose decisions are final on all matters relating to this Contest. The Winner will be notified by email at the email address provided upon entry on or about one (1) day after the date of the Drawing.
Grand Prize: Sponsor will award one (1) Grand Prize packages to one winner. The Grand Prize is as follows: a trip with The Adventure Project, a round trip airplane ticket, all trip-related meals, lodging and transportation and other out-of-pocket expenses of The Adventure Project’s choosing. The Adventure Project will not pay for alcohol, phone and internet charges, medical costs incurred as a result of travel or actions taken during the trip, or any other personal expenditures, including purchases of gifts for personal or other use. The Total Approximate Retail Value of the prizes is $2,500. No substitution of prizes, except at the discretion of The Adventure Project. Prize may not be redeemed for cash value. If the individual selected declines to participate or is unable to fulfill Contest requirements or if, by reason of accident, illness or emergency, the person is unable to travel or must return home early, or if the individual’s participation is terminated by The Adventure Project prior to trip completion, there will be no cash compensation.
Verification of Winner and Delivery of Prize: Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability release and, where permitted, a publicity release. Prizes may be awarded to alternate winners if affidavits/releases are not returned within ten (10) days after mailing to winners or if prize notifications are returned as undeliverable. If prize is won by a minor, it may be awarded in the name of a parent or legal guardian in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Winners agree to use of name, address, likeness, and/or prize information for promotional purposes in any medium without additional compensation to the extent permitted by law, any such use with respect to minors to be subject to prior approval of parent or legal guardian.
General: This Contest will be governed by the internal laws of the State of Delaware. Any and all legal actions or claims arising in connection with this Contest must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction within the United States of America. Sponsor and judges are not responsible for late, lost, stolen, damaged, garbled, incomplete, misaddressed, postage due or misdirected entries, emails, mail or communications; for errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, or delays in operations or transmission of information, in each case whether arising by way of technical or other failures or malfunctions of computer hardware, software, communications devices; or for transmission lines or data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entry materials, loss or otherwise. Further, Sponsor and judges are not responsible for electronic communications that are undeliverable as a result of any form of active or passive filtering of any kind, or insufficient space in entrant’s email account to receive email messages.
The use of automated software or computer programs to register or to enter the Contest is prohibited and any individual who uses or attempts to use such methods to register or to enter will be disqualified. Sponsor disclaims any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participation in, or accessing or downloading information in connection with, this Contest and reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest should any virus, bug, technical failures, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest. In the event of any such cancellation, termination or suspension, a notice will be posted and a random drawing will be held from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to such time. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant (and his/her Contest entry) from this Contest or any other promotion conducted now or in the future by Sponsor or any of its affiliates if he/she tampers with the entry process or if his/her fraud or misconduct affects the integrity of the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right to correct clerical or typographical errors in promotional materials. By participating in this Contest, each entrant accepts the conditions stated in these Official Rules, agrees to be bound by the decisions of the judges and warrants that he/she is eligible to participate in this Contest. By accepting the prize, winner agrees to release Sponsor and its directors, employees, officers and agents, including without limitation, its advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability, loss or damages arising from or in connection with the awarding, receipt and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any prize-related activity.
Tax Information: All federal, state, local, and other taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the applicable winner.
