| Life was perfect until she got the travel bug in college. Becky toured the major monuments before heading off-the-beaten-path to volunteer with orphans in rural Romania. Realizing just how blessed she was, Becky decided to dedicate her life to finding solutions to end global poverty. She went back to school and got a Master’s in International Social Welfare & Social Enterprise. She then spent three years helping to launch the non-profit, charity: water, from couch to conference room. Working in Haiti and throughout Africa, Becky has seen enormous potential for sustainable development through the power of enterprise. Becky lives in NYC. | On their ten-year wedding anniversary, Jody and her husband adopted their two youngest children from Sierra Leone. Their experiences opened their eyes, broke their hearts, and confirmed the desire the see a world where the adoption of orphans is not necessary. So from a tiny town in Iowa, with one laptop, a lot of passion, and some free time (?), Jody helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to help those in need in developing countries. Now in Washington with her family, Jody realizes that there are millions of people just like her. Eager to help, if they just knew how. Jody is the proud mother to six children, and the recipient of the 2008 Hallmark Channel’s Remarkable Woman of the Year Award. |
